Actually, the three stars represent three parts of Latvia: Latgale, Vidzeme and Zemgale. And to differ between THE Statue of Liberty, we call it Freedom Monument. :)Nice photos, by the way.
Excellent photos! What camera do you have? (I am a random Whitworth mom and a California native, in case you're wondering who this strange commenter is. My son was Nathan Harrison's roommmate last year.)
I don't know much about my camera, but this is all the information I could gather from looking at the stuff written all over it. It's a Nikon Coolpix 3200, with 3.2 Effective Megapixels (are there ineffective megapixels?), and a 3X (38-115mm) Optical Zoom. It's working out pretty good. And there's nothing better than being a California girl, no matter where you are transplanted.
Well, your camera does an excellent job! (I wonder about those ineffective pixels as well. Odd.) And you are sooooo right about being a California native. It sticks with you forever. I commented on another of your earlier posts re: avocados. I think only Californians truly appreciate them. Also, I used to live in San Francisco on Clement Street between 22nd and 23rd. It rocked! Sadly, I've been gone from CA for (YIKES!) 27 years - longer than I lived there. :(

Thanks for the information! I don't think our guide told us all that, so I'm glad someone cleared it up.

FYI - I commented on your post "Schneewitchen", in case you're interested.
